We are forming a creative community of people who are interested in working together using music, words, movement and theatre to make new connections across generations, share ideas and experiences and tell the stories of what is important to them.
Join our Come Together creative community!
Come Together is a creative community of people from across Uttlesford who are interested in working together using music, words, movement and theatre to make new connections across generations, share ideas and experiences and tell the stories of what is important to them.
A new Come Together project begins this October and local residents are invited to join a team of professional writers, photographers, theatre-makers and musicians in order to help them bring out their hidden artist. Absolutely no previous experience is required to take part.
This year’s theme will take the starting point of “Unlocked”- reflecting both the post-pandemic period, and the idea of unlocking creativity across the community, and uncovering stories from community members and from Uttlesford’s history. The project will be guided by the group and will explore a range of art forms, in partnership with Saffron Walden Museum which will give the group access to hidden treasures from our local area.
Come Together is a Saffron Hall project supported by Uttlesford District Council

The Lost Letters
“I felt valued and as if my voice was heard… and all the while I could feel the total support from the other participants and the creative team. It is something I will never forget (and am hoping will continue as the benefits have been immense – it has been like stealth therapy.)”
“I for one feel as if something deep inside me has been rekindled. Something I haven’t felt since I was a child. I still have something to offer and a voice to be heard”
“This project seems to have reached part of me that the others just haven’t managed to… that Heineken moment, which just shows my age. Something creative, exploratory, disciplined, but above all, something done in conjunction with likeminded people.”
“Something changed when I left Junior School. That feeling of freedom and that anything was possible and that confidence in myself seemed to be hidden away. For many years it has been looking for a voice and I think that it just might have found one.”
“I had not been involved in any dance, music or drama since school and even then these were not my main interests… However, I am so glad that I got involved! The project has given me the opportunity to meet new people, try out new things and experience a really supportive collaborative atmosphere”
