Courtney Pine

Presented by Saffron Hall

No musician more embodies the dramatic transformation in the British jazz scene over the past thirty years than saxophonist Courtney Pine.

His House of Legends revisits a very special project. It’s a celebration of the influence on – and contributions to – the UK from the many and varied people of the Caribbean. Featuring musicians from the region, and from Africa and Europe, it’s a unique cultural meeting point and musical exchange. It’s steeped in tradition - an exhilarating mix of Merengue, Ska, Mento and Calypso - but refracted through the lens of this charismatic and trailblazing UK-born jazz musician with proud Afro-Caribbean roots.
