Saffron Walden Choral Society - Fauré: Requiem
Saffron Walden Choral Society - Fauré: RequiemPresented by Saffron Walden Choral Society
Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem includes some of the most beautiful melodies he composed – the exquisite 'Pie Jesu' and ethereal 'In Paradisum' are highlights.
Its seven movements focus on eternal rest and consolation for those who mourn. Marking her final concert as Musical Director of Saffron Walden Choral Society, Janet Wheeler’s new work for the choir explores The Measure of a Tree, from its life cycle to its vital role for life on earth. The concert also includes the ever-popular Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Greensleeves, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth in 1872.
