Solomon’s Knot
Solomon’s KnotPresented by Saffron Hall
Epic power and breathtaking beauty: Handel’s Israel in Egypt is a dramatic masterpiece that brings the Old Testament to life with dazzling choruses, vivid storytelling, and musical grandeur. From the haunting plagues of Egypt to the triumphant crossing of the Red Sea, Handel’s choral writing is never more electrifying than here, with wave upon wave of sonic drama.
Solomon’s Knot is “one of the UK’s most innovative and imaginative ensembles” (The Observer). This dazzling group of Baroque specialists makes its Saffron Hall debut, singing from memory and performing as a collective without conductor. This is Baroque music on a cinematic scale — bold, brilliant, and utterly compelling.
