Haffner Wind Ensemble

Haffner Wind Ensemble

Presented by Saffron Hall

Haffner Wind Ensemble

“It started simply enough, like a rusty squeezebox...and then suddenly high above it, sounded a single note on the oboe”. Remember that great scene from Amadeus? That piece – Mozart’s ‘Gran Partita’ – is the climax of this gloriously inspired concert from the Haffner Wind Ensemble. First, though, comes Beethoven’s playful “little Rondo”, and a trip to the Czech countryside for Dvořák’s folk-inspired serenade for winds: spirited, tuneful and utterly brilliant.
