A Tribute to Nigel Brown OBE

A Tribute to Nigel Brown OBE

Presented by The Stradivari Trust and Saffron Hall

Tickets from £22

Price includes a commission of £1.00

Saffron Hall Trust and The Stradivari Trust pay tribute to Nigel Brown OBE, featuring some of the many musicians that The Stradivari Trust has supported over the years.

Saffron Hall Trust and The Stradivari Trust are proud to present a performance featuring two of Brahms' timeless masterpieces: the emotionally resonant String Sextet No.1 and a selection of the spirited Hungarian Dances for Piano, played with four hands, highlighting the work’s rhythmic vitality. As ever with Brahms, every note is imbued with depth and expression, qualities that are expertly communicated from score to performance with this line-up of remarkable musicians, whose synergy brings these cherished works to life. Experience an extraordinary fusion of talent as virtuosos Alicja Smietana, Charlotte Scott, Alda Dizdari, Alex Redington, Garfield Jackson, Mark Chivers, Guy Johnston, Jonny Byers, Nigel Yandell and Clare Hammond grace the stage with unparalleled skill and passion.

Entrepreneur Nigel Brown's early support for violinist Nigel Kennedy led to the establishment of The Stradivari Trust in 2004, a registered charity that has since supported many up-and-coming and high-profile musicians to purchase their instruments. Nigel, who chaired Saffron Hall Trust from 2013 to 2018, oversaw the Hall’s successful opening and supported the growth of its high-quality, eclectic programme.

The event celebrates Nigel's dedication to enriching the musical life of the region, with musicians honouring his legacy in the way they know best – through performance. This is a fundraising concert with proceeds supporting Saffron Hall Trust and The Stradivari Trust.

The concert ticket includes a glass of champagne on arrival, generously supported by Thorman Hunt. Nigel was the Chair of Thorman Hunt, specialist wine merchants, for over 40 years.

Saffron Hall Trust is a registered charity no 1153685. The Stradivari Trust is a registered charity no 1106652.
