Poet Laureate Simon Armitage as he reads a wide-ranging selection of his work including new poems. He will answer questions from the audience and sign books afterwards.

Poet, novelist, playwright and song-writer, Armitage has published over a dozen poetry collections, including Magnetic Field about where he grew up in West Yorkshire, His modern translation of the medieval poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight has sold over 100,000 copies. He is the author of two novels and three non-fiction bestsellers – the memoirs All Points North and Walking Home and Walking Away. He presents the popular BBC Radio 4 series The Poet Laureate has Gone to his Shed and also writes and performs with the band LYR. He has received an Ivor Novello Award for his song writing. His new book Never Good with Horses is the first-ever collection of the Poet Laureate’s lyric output.
