Fergus McCreadie Trio

Presented by Saffron Hall

Tickets from £12

Price includes a commission of £1.00

‘The sound of the Fergus McCreadie Trio is the sound of joy’ enthused All About Jazz recently. The line-up – McCreadie on piano, plus drums and bass – is conventional, but the music is anything but. It’s a freewheeling, beguiling blend of jazz and Scottish folk inspired by his homeland’s traditional music and sublime landscapes, and has captured the hearts of a worldwide audience, with an appeal that extends far beyond jazz.

The Mercury-nominated 2022 album Forest Floor has become an instant, unclassifiable classic, anchored in its Scottish roots and the sounds of nature and embellished by McCreadie’s nimble keyboard skills and astonishing feats of improvisation. Switching from full-flowing forward propulsion to tranquil stillness in a heartbeat, this is soul music for the shuffle generation, built on a rich seam of tradition enriched with versatility, imagination, energy and colour.
