Glenn Miller Orchestra

Glenn Miller Orchestra

Presented by Saffron Hall

The Glenn Miller Orchestra having fun performing on the Barbican Stage.

The style, sound and songs of Glenn Miller seem as popular today as they were in the great American bandleader’s 1940s heyday. Duplicating the exact onstage forces devised by Miller and joined by two vocalists, veteran bandleader Ray McVay remains the devotee, champion and creative mastermind behind the project, adding new songs to the already vast library of hit numbers from the maestro’s library which includes the great arrangements from both the civilian and Army/Air Force orchestras.

This remains THE way to hear Miller’s timeless music, with classic instrumentals mixed with solo numbers and slots for The Moonlight Serenaders vocal group and stomping jazz from The Uptown Hall Gang - all drawn from within the impeccable, versatile classic big-band line-up.
