Few musicians encapsulate the joy of live performance like Piotr Anderszewski.

Stylish, crystal-clear and meticulously detailed, his playing also has a vitality and spontaneity that casts fresh light on cornerstones of the repertoire and unfamiliar treasures alike. It’s an approach that seems to penetrate to the very heart of the music, unfolding it with compelling logic and momentum that recreates it anew for each performance. Bach runs like a seam through this Saffron Hall season. In a fascinating pairing, the florid large-scale keyboard works are a framework for music that traces Andersewski’s Polish-Hungarian roots. Bach’s buoyant rhythms are echoed in an anthology inspired by Poland’s national dance and in the vivacity and impish humour of Bartók's miniatures.
