Saffron Walden Symphony Orchestra performing in concert on stage at Saffron Hall

Clarinettist Stephanie Godwin makes her Saffron Hall debut in a concert of music inspired by visions and dreams.

John Foulds has been described as “the greatest 20th Century composer of genius to be almost entirely ignored”. His great 1910 tone poem Mirage had to wait almost a century for its premiere. Malcolm Arnold’s cheeky nature comes to the fore in his 2nd Clarinet Concerto, especially in the jazz-inspired finale. The concert ends with Berlioz’s visionary Symphonie Fantastique.
