Tchaikovsky’s glittering ballet is given new life in an ingenious intimate staging for musician, dancer, and digital animation telling the story of a little girl and the gifts and toys that spring to life from under the tree on Christmas Eve.
In this one-hour production for families, exquisite hand-drawn animations interact with the live performers. Underpinned by pianist Alexandra Dariescu’s virtuosic performance of some of Tchaikovsky’s memorable melodies, this is a delightful re-imagining of an evergreen festive favourite that envelops us in its timeless charm.
