Benedetti Sessions at Saffron Hall

24 September 2021

We were delighted to have be able to host the first in-person Benedetti Sessions weekend since March 2020 on 24-26 September run by the Benedetti Foundation.

The weekend brought together 125 young musicians aged 6-18 to form 3 scratch orchestras as well as featuring sessions for local primary schools and instrumental teachers. Participants enjoyed coaching from specialist tutors, including baroque specialists Margaret Faultless (violin), Oliver Wilson (viola), Clifton Harrison (viola), Elizabeth Kenny (lute) and David Watkin, who conducted the performance in the video below.

Watch participants and tutors perform a multi-level arrangement of Geminiani’s La Folia, written specially by the Ayoub Sisters to encompass all levels of playing from beginner to advanced, conducted by David Watkin.
