Join a Local Creative Community in Saffron Walden

04 February 2022

Saffron Hall’s community project Come Together returns this spring

Come Together is a creative community of people from across Uttlesford who are interested in working together using music, words, movement and theatre to make new connections across generations, share ideas and experiences and tell the stories of what is important to them.

A new Come Together term begins this month and local residents are invited to join a team of local people, inspired by workshops with professional writers, visual artists, theatre-makers and musicians in order to help them bring out their hidden artist. No previous experience is required to take part.

During the autumn, the Come Together community explored the notion of ‘unlocked’. After an extended period of lockdowns and being shut off behind closed doors, the group had the opportunity to meet up and unlock their creativity, imaginations, musicality, and community spirit.

Saffron Hall is now delighted to reveal the next phase of the project

The Unlocked Residency

The Come Together community will be hosting a week-long residency/installation arts event in a brand new community space in the middle of Saffron Walden during July, providing an exciting opportunity for the group to share their creative work and performance.

Come Together
begins on Sunday 13 February at the Saffron Community Link (next to the Saffron Building Society on Market Street) from 2-4pm. Workshops and rehearsals will take a different format through the spring and summer, with some weekend dates and one-offs rather than a weekly evening session. Anyone who lives in Uttlesford aged 14+ can take part.

To find out more about getting involved please visit our Come Together page or give Katie a call on 01799 588545.

Come Together is a Saffron Hall project supported by Uttlesford District Council
