Anna Huntley & James Baillieu in Recital
Anna Huntley & James Baillieu in RecitalPresented by Saffron Hall
At the request of the artist there has been a change to the previously advertised programme.
The Brahms lieder has been replaced by Rossini’s ‘La Regata Veneziana’ canonzettas; a selection from Schumann’s Maria Stuarda lieder will replace Frauenliebe und –leben; and Latin American songs will be performed in place of English pastoral songs. The concert will finish with a slightly revised choice from the Great American songbook.
Rising British mezzo soprano Anna Huntley offers a delightfully varied recital for her Saffron Walden debut. She begins with canonzettas from Rossini and a selection from Schumann’s Maria Stuarda lieder, before journeying through songs by Latin American composers. A jazzy taste of the Great American Songbook adds further spice to a fascinating programme.
