Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band
Brighouse and Rastrick Brass BandPresented by Saffron Hall
The capacity of brass bands to stir the soul is legendary, and no ensemble does it better than ‘Briggus’ as they are affectionately nicknamed.
Widely regarded as the one of the world’s finest brass bands, Brighouse and Rastrick were formed nearly 150 years ago from public donations from the inhabitants of two villages who face each other across the river Calder in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Their famed recording of Floral Dance propelled them into the charts and they’ve enjoyed high profile collaborations with folk stars The Unthanks, singer Liza Pullman and actor Simon Callow. They bring a trademark selection of medleys, arrangements, solo showpieces and music written for them.
