Sir Michael Parkinson

Sir Michael Parkinson

Presented by Saffron Hall

After several sell-out tours, Sir Michael Parkinson is heading back out on the road to celebrate the publication of his latest book, My Sporting Life – a love letter to sport, full of insight, heart and humour.

In conversation with his son Mike, Sir Michael will reflect on his remarkable journey from a pit village in Yorkshire, via a thwarted ambition to play cricket for Yorkshire, earning a living watching and writing about sport, to finally finding himself at the top of those famous stairs as host of a show that for many defined their Saturday night.

Showing highlights from the fantastic Parkinson archive, he’ll also reveal stories from his relationships with the greats of sport including Shane Warne, the magnetic Muhammad Ali, and the doomed George Best, plus new thoughts on the sporting landscape as he sees it, what sport has meant to him over the years, and why it should matter to us all.

Intimate, entertaining, and enlightening, don’t miss the opportunity to spend an evening with one of the greatest broadcasters of our time.
