The Ronnie Scott's All-Stars

The Ronnie Scott's All-Stars

Presented by Saffron Hall

Tickets from £21

Price includes a commission of £1.00

It has been dubbed ‘the greatest year in Jazz  and there was definitely something in the air in 1959: Castro became Cuba’s Prime Minister, and NASA put seven astronauts into space.

Meanwhile a similar seismic transformation was taking place in the world of music: The summer saw the recording and release of perhaps the most influential jazz album of all time, Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue. But it was also the year of Dave Brubeck’s Time Out, of Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane and Charlie Mingus. The same year also saw the founding of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, and the All-Stars big band take us on a guided tour of this unique year in the history of Jazz.
