Britten Sinfonia & Polyphony: Fauré's Requiem

Britten Sinfonia & Polyphony: Fauré's Requiem

Presented by Britten Sinfonia

Britten Sinfonia finishing a piece during a concert on stage.

Join Britten Sinfonia and acclaimed vocal group Polyphony for an evening of exquisite choral music.

"One of the world’s finest interpreters of choral music” (Classic FM Magazine), Stephen Layton conducts Britten Sinfonia and his outstanding vocal group Polyphony in Fauré’s wonderfully intimate Requiem, which ends in radiant transcendence.

In the first half, we hear powerful pieces for strings by two great Baltic composers. Arvo Pärt adapts the spoken Orthodox funeral service whilst Peteris Vasks’ Musica dolorosa is full of winding, yearning melodies.
