Paul Lewis

Presented by Saffron Hall

British pianist Paul Lewis was among the first artists to perform at Saffron Hall when we opened our doors – he even selected our Steinway grand – and has been delighting audiences here ever since.

In this first of four recitals, over three seasons, he will explore Schubert’s sonatas, starting with the lyrical No.7, the haunting No.14 and the imperious No.17. This is a landmark project for a pianist who was described by Gramophone Magazine as “one of the great Schubertians of our time”.

Please note that due to trains strikes planned for 6 Jan, we will no longer be running our shuttle bus service between Audley End Station and Saffron Hall, as the last train running to this station will be well before the concert start time.
