Sir Willard White & the Brodsky Quartet

Sir Willard White & the Brodsky Quartet

Presented by Saffron Hall

Willard White.

The final programme for this concert has now been confirmed, with some minor changes at the request of the artist. Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance will no longer be performed. Ravel's Blues (from Violin Sonata) and Gershwin's Lullaby have been added to the programme.

Jamaican-born bass Sir Willard White is one of the great all-round musical entertainers of our era, as dazzling when performing Songbook standards as he is on the stages of the world’s great opera houses. In his unmissable Saffron Hall debut, alongside the Brodsky Quartet, he pays tribute to the relationship between Frank Sinatra and the Hollywood String Quartet which resulted in the epoch-defining 1957 album Close to You. His recital also includes classic American art-songs, evergreen pop standards, and a sprinkling of surprises. Part of Saffron Hall’s year-long focus on great voices and great singing.

This concert will finish at approximately 9.20pm
