Paul Lewis: Mozart+ 2

Paul Lewis: Mozart+ 2

Presented by Saffron Hall

Tickets from £16

Price includes a commission of £1.00

Paul Lewis’ musicianship – his clarity, nuance and deeply-thought interpretations – brings even the most familiar music alive. In his multi-season series, Mozart+, he pairs Mozart – always the star of the show – with other great composer-pianists.

Schubert and Chopin bring out the full colour and variety of the piano in their music. Chopin is adored for his fragile tenderness and the scintillating virtuosity of his national folk-dance styles. Schubert’s piano pieces date from the last year of his life, and see him at his most expansive and inventive, encompassing a huge range of emotional states: troubled introspection to a lullaby’s lilt, grace, grandeur and spirited dancing.
