Saffron Walden Choral Society: Carmina Burana

Saffron Walden Choral Society: Carmina Burana

Presented by Saffron Walden Choral Society

Saffron Walden Choral Society’s first performance under the baton of their new musical director, Quintin Beer, will be Carl Off’s Carmina Burana, set for two pianos and percussion. From the dramatic 'O Fortuna' to the rollicking 'In Taberna', it’s an engaging celebration of drinking, nature, love and lust. SWCS will be joined by St Catharine’s College Girls’ Choir and renowned percussion group O Duo.

Jonathan Dove’s Arion and the Dolphin was inspired by a Greek myth. Arion is a prize-winning singer, forced to jump overboard as he returns to Corinth by sea, but rescued by music-loving dolphins!
